Losing 32 million and Gaining Hope

WINNING LOTTO:

Right from the beginning, I just want to let you know I have NOT won lotto..... yet. I’m a planner, one of those people that budgets every last cent every week, writes lists for everything and looks at the future more than I look at the present. I feel content when I put plans into place, but sometimes when the plan doesn’t work out or circumstances change I get stressed. This is exactly what happened tonight at 8.00pm, when the NZ Lotto was drawn. Let me take you back about to about 5pm where I saw that the powerball had was at 32 mllion dollars and I was pretty sure if I bought a ticket that I would win it. So I jumped online and bought a ticket with the last $18.00 sitting in my account. For the next two hours I planned all the great things I was going to do for people with it. I started to plan,

Here are some of the ideas I had come up with:
  • -          I was going to donate 50% to charity (World Vision, Plunket, Salvation Army)
  • -          Start up a successful, profitable business that would create jobs for people in my community
  • -          Build a SPCA type zoo that people could come to for free and adopt the animals they liked, while the animals had a place to their liking and comfort
  • -          Help to repair the hole in the Ozone layer
  • -          Volunteer in a mission overseas
  • -          Put $1 million away in a trust fund for my daughter, Summer and future kids I may have
  • -          Buy a house in Melbourne for my sister and gift her an OE that she has always dreamt of
  • -          Buy a house for my family in a comfortable location

Well for all you cynics out there, you will have guessed what happened next. I won....... $33. (Fifth division). I didn’t make the 32 million dollars that I had PLANNED for. Instead of feeling disappointed, I felt elated, motivated and driven because I realised I didn’t need this money, I could help and share and become a better person without winning lotto. So I will keep buying Lotto tickets every week and until I win, I will spend my spare time helping to accomplish everything I planned to do. I’m writing this blog to take everyone through my journey. You may think I’m a dreamer, maybe I am but I enjoy dreaming because without hope there is no point in living. I want to have personal achievements that show that one person can help the world become a better place.

Things I want to do (BIG AND SMALL):
  • -          See “WICKED” on stage
  • -          EVERYTHING on the list above
  • -          Raise my daughter with a great moral standing
  • -          Embrace life and all its benefits
  • -          Inspire Others
  • -          Help Others
  • -          Write a novel
  • -          Make additions to my list

Where to start? The million dollar (or 32 million dollar) question. Who knows what tomorrow may bring? J I currently run an “Employment Consultancy” which helps struggling unemployed people find work. I write CVs, Cover letters and applications, organise them for interviews (and drive them there) all for no cost. This week I might concentrate on this. Put my $33.00 in the bank to good use. Wish me luck!
